FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
LuckyPix Launches; asks Professional and Amateur Photographers to Submit
Serendipitous Photos
Chicago, IL -- LuckyPix announces the launch of its stock photography
company located at www.luckypix.com. LuckyPix is a growing collection of the
most genuine images in stock photography, submitted by both professional and
talented amateur photographers.
What makes LuckyPix different than other stock photography companies is both
its dedication to serendipitous, realistic imagery, which allows
professional photographers to get paid for some of their most personal work,
and its inclusion of dedicated amateur photographers.
"As stock photo buyers call for more genuine imagery, stock photo companies
are providing more stylized, art-directed pictures. Our photos are taken in
real life, in natural light. And our inclusion of amateur photographers
adds realism to the archive," says Bill Maday, Co-Founder and CEO of
LuckyPix.
LuckyPix gives photographers an outlet for their more authentic
images, which might be rejected by traditional stock photo houses. "Most
stock photo companies want a specific type of photo and if it doesn't fit
into a very narrow category it's going to be rejected. We're giving
photographers the freedom to use their talents and capture decisive
moments," says Sam Landers, Co-Founder and Director of Branding for
LuckyPix, echoing Henri Cartier-Bresson's famous description of his own
pictures.
Currently, the site is open to contributors, and LuckyPix hopes to increase
its growing archive quickly and launch to stock photo buyers in late 2001 or
early 2002. In addition to its growing archive of "moment" images, LuckyPix
is also building its library of traditional stock photos in categories like
business, travel and culture.
"If every talented image-maker in the country contributes their ten most
serendipitous images, we'll have the most memorable, and we hope best
selling, archive in the world," says Bill Maday.
LuckyPix is a stock photography company that licenses images to editorial,
advertising and design companies. Professionals, serious amateurs
and anyone with a great eye or perfect timing are invited to submit images
at LuckyPix.com. LuckyPix was founded in April 2001 by Bill Maday, Tom
Maday, Sam Landers.
