How much will I be paid for my images?You receive 50% of LuckyPix's royalties. There are no fees or surcharges; it’s an even 50-50 split. 2. Why should I contribute my images?LuckyPix is a growing archive of some of the most unique and genuine images in stock photography. As a LuckyPix contributor, you receive 50% of royalties paid to LuckyPix, without any fees or surcharges. And you have the opportunity for your images to be viewed by designers, art directors and others, worldwide. 3. What is the contractual arrangement for a photographer?Please review our Contributors Agreement for more information. Email us at info@luckypix if you have any questions or concerns. 4. What are your technical specifications for final scanned images?Final scanned images must be 60mb+, color-corrected, 8-bit TIFs. We ask that you scan film rather than prints and recommend drum scans or other high-end scanners to produce a final image. Be sure to check your final image at 100% to be sure the image is sharp and free of dust and other defects. Do not sharpen or size-up your images! 5. Do you accept images from digital cameras?Yes, on a case-by-case basis. If you want to submit digital images, we recommend sending ten high-res samples to see if they meet our requirements. Email us at info@luckypix if you have any questions or want to submit samples. 6. Will I receive photo credits for my images?You will receive a joint credit with LuckyPix for editorial uses. 7. What kinds of photos are you looking for?We’re looking for high-end, contemporary people & lifestyle photography. 8. What do "royalty-free" and "rights-protected" mean?In short, royalty-free means that there are no restrictions on the print run, volume, intended use, and media in which images are used. Selecting a royalty-free image means the buyer pays a one-time fee governed by the file size, for unlimited use. Rights-protected images are high quality images with a fluctuating price reliant upon print run, duration of use, image size, distribution, placement and so forth. 9. Can I opt-out of the royalty-free marketplace?Yes, you will have that option each time you upload low-resolution preview images. Additionally, you may request to be excluded from the royalty-free marketplace by contacting us at info@luckypix.com. 10. How do I start?
11. Do I have to use the upload to submit images?No, you can submit images in by CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, even email. Contact us to discuss the submission option you feel comfortable with. 12. How do I upload photos?First, go to the Upload page. Once there, click the Browse button and choose the photo you want to upload from your computer’s hard drive (making sure there are no spaces in file names). Repeat this step for up to 10 images. Then click the Upload button and the images will be uploaded. 13. Why should I provide a caption, keywords and categories?Nobody knows your photos as well as you do. You know the time, place, conditions, etc. of the images. By giving us that information, we can better place your pictures in the archive, and it will have a better chance of being found by potential buyers. 14. How do I caption my images?We prefer a concise sentence that describes what is happening in your photo. Specifics are better than generalities. Examples:
Better: Wide view of businessman with briefcase and blue umbrella crossing busy urban intersection. 15. How do I keyword my images?We keyword our images using a strict system to give them the best chance of being found by potential buyers. We just ask you to provide a base for us to keyword from. That includes: number of persons or things pictured; gender of person (if applicable); time of day/year; race/ethnicity of subject (if applicable); approximate age (if applicable); general location (outdoors, indoors, etc) and specific location (Eiffel Tower, Times Square); activity pictured or implied in the image; the feeling communicated; and configuration of the image (including tone, style, etc). Please also include specific breeds of plants, flowers, animals, etc. if applicable. For example, the image below would have the following keywords:
aggressive, aggressor, alpha male, anger, angry, animal, Australia, bovine, bull, bullock, bully, cattle, charge, charging, country, cow, day, daytime, down, farm, farming, fence, graze, grazing, guard, horn, horns, infamous, intimidate, intimidating, livestock, looking at camera, no person, notorious, outback, outdoors, protect, protective, protector, rural, scared, stare, stare down, staring, strength, summer 16. What do I need to do once my images have been accepted?After LuckyPix has accepted your photos, please send high-resolution scans on CD-ROM or DVD-ROM and model/property releases as needed via FedEx or certified U.S. Mail to:

Do I need model and/or property release forms for submitted photos?LuckyPix requires signed release forms for images that contain a recognizable person and/or identifiable property. 18. What is a model release and do my images require one?LuckyPix requires model releases for every identifiable person in your photos. A model release is a legal document signed by a photo subject, which releases the photographer from claims that he or she violated the rights of any clearly identifiable person in a photo that might arise from the use and future sales of the photograph. If a child appears in the photo, a parent or guardian must sign a release. You can download a model release form, print it, have the model sign it and send us a copy with your images once they’re selected. Please keep the original for your own files. 19. What is a property release and do my images require one?LuckyPix recommends that you obtain property releases for all identifiable property in your photos. A property release is a legal document signed by the owner of property identifiable in the photo, which releases the photographer from claims that he or she violated the rights of the owner of the property in the photo that might arise from the use and future sales of the photograph. You can download a property release form, print it, have the property owner sign it and send us a copy with your images once they’re selected. Please keep the original for your own files. 20. May I send in a non-LuckyPix release form?Yes, though we prefer an official LuckyPix release form, most standard release forms will do. 21. Can I become a LuckyPix contributor if I don’t live in the United States?
